When I heard about Ladies Night Out in Lapeer, Michigan, I knew I wanted to be there! As a boudoir photographer serving the Flint MI area, when I see a chance to support an incredible local cause, I’m in.
About LACADA
LACADA, the Lapeer Area Council Against Domestic Abuse, provides free and confidential support to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault right here in Michigan. Survivors often feel completely alone with nowhere to turn, and LACADA exists to change that, offering crisis intervention, advocacy, and support services that help people reclaim control of their own lives. Their mission holds a deeply special place in my heart, and being able to show up and support them in any way felt important.
Behind the Scenes of a Boudoir Vendor Event
Lapeer is only about 40 minutes from our studio, but the months of preparation leading up to May 8th made it feel like a much bigger journey. Packages were literally arriving for weeks. I practiced our entire table setup in my dining room, rearranging display stands, adjusting layouts, stepping back, and doing it all over again. I even brought the question to our VIP community group, asking them to weigh in on which cover photos and polaroid images we should display. Their input genuinely shaped how the table came together, and I love that they were part of it!
The Boudoir Self-Care Basket
One of my favorite parts of the planning process was putting together a donation basket for the raffle. I wanted it to feel like a real act of care: chocolates, a candle, face masks, shower steamers, affirmation cards, and more, the kind of things that say you deserve to feel good. Tucked inside was a $700 gift certificate toward a Black Dress Boudoir session plus a free bonus set. People purchased raffle tickets to win it, raising funds for LACADA directly!
The Night: Boudoir Photographer at Ladies Night Out
The event ran from 5 to 8 PM at Beyer’s Furniture in Lapeer and was full of women who showed up to have a good time and support something meaningful. We offered a ladies’ night special of $500 off our collections for anyone booking at the event, and we had a blast chatting with everyone who stopped by our booth.
One thing that kept stopping people in their tracks was Theodora, a stunning custom iridescent glass crystal body jewelry piece handmade by Tailored Body Jewelry that we had on display at our table. And once they stopped, the “I know her!” moments started happening. Women recognizing past clients in our photos, friends nudging each other and insisting they needed to book.
